Top Ten Tuesday: Cover Redesigns I Loved/Hated

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. Each week participating bloggers can create lists of topic given by the host, and share them with others!

Loved

Renegades by Marissa Meyer
I disliked a lot the original UK cover so I was super happy to see that they did a redesign when Archenemies came out.

Under the Never Sky by Veronica Rossi
I liked the first cover, but I loved the new one more.

Carry On by Rainbow Rowell
I love the new cover! The detail and illustration is fab.

The Near Witch by V. E. Schwab
I love the simplicity and colours on the new cover.

I Hunt Killers by Barry Lyga
I think the new one fits the story better.

On the fence

Vicious by V.E. Schwab
I can't decide which cover I like more. I loved the original UK cover, but the new one is not bad either.

Hated

White Rabbit by Caleb Roehrig
It's frustrating when a book goes through a cover change between hardback and paperback editions - particularly when the hardback is gorgeous.

Release by Patrick Ness
Unnecessary colour change from hardback to paperback edition.

Obscura Burning by Suzanne van Rooyen
First one looks more pleasing in my eye, but it also fits the story better.

Boy Nobody / The Hit / I Am the Weapon by Allen Zadoff
This is one very confusing changes. The US edition is called I Am the Weapon while the UK edition was called Boy Nobody, until they did a redesign when the second book came out - and they changed not only the cover, but the name! I preferred the first name and cover, although I don't understand why the name have to be different from the US one in the first place.

Top Ten Tuesday: Books I Just HAD to Buy... But Are Still Sitting On My Bookshelves

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. Each week participating bloggers can create lists of topic given by the host, and share them with others!

For the freebie week, I'm visiting an old topic that I found from the list of past TTT topics. There's a lot of books I just had to get as soon as they were published - a few I even bought as hardcovers even if I don't particularly like hardcovers and rarely get them. However, for one reason or another, these books still sit on my shelves unread.

I'll start off with books first in series or standalones that I anticipated, bought and then haven't started them. But I will! I'm still intrigued by these and all of them are on my TBR... I just need a push to actually pick them up.

And these are sequels to books I've loved, but just haven't picked them up yet. In the case of Iron Breakers, I want to reread the first two books before tackling The Floodgates; The Burning Maze I actually saved to be read closer to the next book's publication; and Vengeful, well, I'm a bit terrified that I won't love it as much as I loved Vicious.

Top Ten Tuesday: Books On My Summer 2019 TBR

I'm pretty notorious for not following TBRs I set for myself. However, I did read astronomically seven books from my spring TBR so maybe I can do a repeat of that and tackle most of these;

Top Ten Tuesday: Most Anticipated Releases of the Second Half of 2019

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. Each week participating bloggers can create lists of topic given by the host, and share them with others!

Here's my most anticipated releases for the rest of the year; all but one are sequels for books I've loved. There are plenty of other books I'm waiting for, but they don't have expected release date other than tentative 2019, so I only included books that are likely to come out as expected publication dates have been confirmed.

Out in June - I'm excited for Christina Henry's next retelling!

Out in July - two middle grade novels that I can't wait to read.

Out in August - two fantasy series get sequels.

Out in September - more fantasy, by two of my favourite authors none the less!

Out in October - more fantasy, haha! Supernova is also my most anticipated from this list.
